wat other gas appliances are in the house? if its only got a u6/g4 meter it doesn`t leave much left for cooker/fires....? how many rads has it got.....? much be huge house....

yes, to change full diverter or to replace internals on it will require boiler to be drained

diverter valve motor/ pcb or needs new DV cartridge is my guess providing burner pressures are all correct and plate heat ex is clean...

coz they either don`t know wat the problem is or are just trying to blag you and make some money on a boiler swop job............... :cry:

the cheaper option would have been to get a good independant to do it probably :)

as above or maybe diverter valve, leave heating off til cold then run a hot tap and see if the htg flow pipe under boiler gets hot...if it does then its a diverter problem

are there isolators on each new tap pipework? if so are they fully open?

the plate heat ex might be holed passing mains water into the system. if you pressure boiler to 1 bar, does pressure rise on its own if you don`t use the heating for a few hours? ( disconnect filling loop)

If problems with rodents in the past then copper would prob be the best way to go, 22mm runs with 15mm branches off to the rads. would reccommend older rads replaced dependant upon their individual condition. But of course the whole system should be prperly cleaned out before any new boiler is...

don`t go full ahead with full install, the system itself might not be as bad as you think, if the rads look ok ie no rust coming through, paint peeling off then they might just need a flush out. as for the boiler, virtually anything can be fixed/repaired! wherabouts blackpool area are you?

were all radiators new 7 years ago? what size pipework is connected to the rads?

its not been left on minimum rate has it? does the display look the same as normal?

gat yourself htg and hw thermistor, numerous problems associated with these, bout 8 quid each, easy to change, do it whilst diverter is out, might as well

if got 15mm pipework too upstairs rads, in the past i`ve drained down, then un done 1 trv/ls valve upstairs and tipped it into pipework........( sealed system)
