    pump would be in bathroom - next to hot water cylinder, so close to spur. hmm, not sure, didn't think about a RCD. do you mean take a spur off the wiring centre and rate it at 13amp? why 13amp though, the shower pump only requires 3amp?

    ballvalve in attic is dripping and annoying, so i am going to change it tomorrow - get a replacement from wickes. one q-are the threads standard size? i mean the thread which joins to the tap connector from the rising main-if not, is altering pipework necessary?

    ok fair enough - this will be tricky though as you cannot spur off a spur so a new cable will need to be run from the back of a ring main socket :( gonna be a big job :cry:

    ok thanks i will, i'll ring round / search the web for some colleges. hmm i am guessing the course can go on for like 3 years in total? (3 certificates ??) if you say after the 1st year is successfully completed, i could apply for a job as a mate? even with low wages it would be better...

    i did read that on the FAQs also, but it has never been a problem before. Also I believe the cold supply must also have a check valve to prevent the possibilty of contaminating the mains water supply. do new mixer taps have double check valves built in? is this easiest solution?
