    The isolation valves have only been turned off today as we changed the diverter valve. Using a screwdriver against the pump and my ear I can hear the pump. But you may be correct it may be spinning two slow is this possible? The hot water side seems to work ok. Cheers Ian

    I tried this heating fires and starts to work then boiler shuts down as before. The CH return pipe gets warm the Flow stays cold. Also steam appears at the auto air vent and this one is hot! Any ideas? Thanks Ian

    So what you are saying is that since the diverter valve is not switching over to CH when I try to fill the system the water has nowhere to go so it comes out of the automatic air vent. Thanks for your help I will see if I can replace the diverter valve tommorrow. Ian
