No, there not combined emergency fittings. I've tried relamping them, still dim. They seem of good quality, h/f tamlite. So going to try swapping with a known good fitting like you say luminare. cheers

apparently the lights were installed 2 years ago, with this problem, and the installer thought it was a faulty fitting and so got supplier to change them. Eversince the lights sometimes work and sometimes dims. Could this still be faulty lights.
