+1 These hoses look like they've been twisted in by hand in stead of a spanner. If the o ring was missing it would have leaked from installation. The staining looks more like limescale or soap scum that has crept under the tap body when in use. Just my opinion.

There will be a flexible silver pipe with 1 or 2 handles on it. One side is connected to the mains water, the other to the heating circuit. You need to open the handles until the pressure gauge needle reaches 1 bar. Turn off the handles. Switch boiler on and see what happens.

It looks like you may have more than one fault.

Yes some bolts don't have an extra washer and nut holding it to the cistern. They drop straight through. They are rubbish. I put extra nut and washers on in this situation. Costs pennies and saves lots of agro.

When you dismantle it to replace diaphragm , don't forget to clean and grease the spindle also.

No probs. Put the other spanner on the big nut and pull up when holding against the valve. It will split.

The big nut is a union. It will come apart if you hold against with another spanner. You can swivel it wherever you need then tighten back up.

You probably wont be able to get the strap boss off. Usually they are solvent welded on. The pipe should'nt be sealed into the boss with sealant. It should have a rubber 'bush' to seal it. Whoever installed it must'nt have had the correct 'bush' to hand. Nor pipe brackets.

Hi all. Ive priced a job to install a low profile shower tray in a new(ish) build house. The floor is the grey coloured Egger board. Sat on engineered joists at 600mm centres. Never worked with this stuff before. Is it ok to bed the tray directly onto this floor?

Some durgo's are 110mm OD but some are available that push inside the pipe. Is there a manufacturers name or stamp on the existing one? Have you tried screwfix? item 78150 HTH.

Pop down to your local Screwfix and get item 40102. Change out of £8. Sorted. HTH.
