Stopgap77 vs SikabondRapid DPM under engineered wooden floor?

Hi, We have a large village hall that we've installed UF heating in - wet system, covered in 75mm concrete screed. We don't have the sufficient drying time so looking to put down a liquid DPM ahead of an engineered timber floor (all flooring, underlay etc is UF heating- compatible). We'd been...

Potterton EP2001 to EP2 - CH work independently??

Thanks jackthom, Have spoken to Baxi/Potterton and the EP2 is not *quite* a like for like replacement for the EP2001 - hence reduced functionality... Good news is, as you suggest jackthom, with the new backplate and a little rewiring - we should be good to go!

Potterton EP2001 to EP2 - CH work independently??

OK, have checked both - the valve works exactly as you described and the EP2 is definitely set to pumped. Looks like it may well be wiring. Thanks for your help, jackthom. This may seem like a silly question - but who would I get to look at this? If it's wiring - it's an electrician, but...

Potterton EP2001 to EP2 - CH work independently??

Yes, it's 3 valve - pretty much identical to your pic, but F5 0535. Unfortunately the lever on mine is nowhere near as accessible as in your photo. I'll have a go at the above, will prob involve a mirror and strong flashlight!! The lever does move, that much I can tell now - just not what...

Thanks jackthom, It is an old system, but has served us well! It does have a motorised valve - Honeywell F-5. Would this still need rewire?

Potterton EP2001 to EP2 - CH work independently??

Good Morning, I hope someone can help. We had a Potterton EP2001 programmer and Potterton PTT2 Cylinder Stat (along with PRT2 Room Stat). The PTT2 Cylinder Stat failed and was replaced with a Drayton HTS3 and the Programmer with the Potterton EP2. The Programmer front section was simply...

16° casement stay pins & wedges

Hi, We're looking to replace the casement stays and wedge fasteners on our timber frames. Thought this would be easy - but have found that practically all fittings are made for flat/90° frames. You can get some EJMA fittings which is the standard 9° angle on the frame - though even these...

Interior Opaque Wood Stain / Finish - advice please

Thanks opps. I have been in touch and whereas it's not designed as an interior treatment, it can be used safely indoors. The Superdec's looking good outside but have decided to just stick with a water-based satin indoors, over a coat of Zinsser 1-2-3, which seems to be the only water-based...

Interior Opaque Wood Stain / Finish - advice please

Hi Folks, I'm renovating some dated (and in parts somewhat weathered) window frames. They've been previously stained inside and out. I'm planning to us Sadolin Superdec for the exterior work and wondered if there is an equivalent interior product, or indeed if it can be used safely indoors...

    Dark grout discoloured / bleached

Hi there We have dark grey grout in our shower. The grout itself is sound and in good condition, however it is stained / bleached in areas (think from over enthusiastic application of viakal or similar...). This now makes the grout look unsightly with paler patches. Is there anything...

Mist coat for new plaster / mixed wall preparation?

Hi I have freshly skimmed plaster ceilings (thoroughly dried out) and plan to give these a mist coat. My first question is this - I have Leyland Vinyl Emulsion (Brillian White) - is this suitable, or do I need to get down the shops tomorrow? Second question - the walls have been stripped...

Installing a door on a carport - is it possible?

Thanks for the rapid responses and 'how to' for the frame on the tubular posts - really helpful - will have to invest in a HSS drill bit! I think traditional hinge doors may be a no-no as the angle of the drive would mean leaving quite a gap at the bottom to compensate. So up and over/roller...

Installing a door on a carport - is it possible?

Hi I have a carport, traditional style (ie not canti-levered) with tubular metal vertical supports, substancial wooden joists/beams (attached to house) and enclosed to side and rear with marine ply. I'd really like a bit of additional security/storage and would like to put a door(s) onto...
