Is this rising damp or condensation?

The is a downstairs cellar, the wall at the back is an external wall and on the right is internal wall. I know the right hand side has a water mark implying it's rising damp. But this is a internal wall. The other side of the wall is another cellar. The flooring on the other side is old...

    Condensation or guttering issue?

I've not had an issue with this room in the past. The property will be vacant soon so will investigate it properly. I just want to resolve the issue properly, if it is more than condensation. I'll investigate the loft, that would clarify things.

    Condensation or guttering issue?

Thanks everyone for the replies. It's a two story 3 bedroom house and tenanted at the moment. So not too sure about drying clothes in the room etc. The room in question is a bedroom. Interestingly enough the other half of this side of the house is the bathroom and there is absolutely no issue...

    Condensation or guttering issue?

I have not been able to investigate this closely and only have access to pictures at this point. I'm wondering if anyone can comment on possible cause? Could this just be condensation or does it seem more like a guttering issue. I had a roofer look at it a while ago and he said there are no...

    Cutting pebble concrete

I need to cut this concrete slab about 2-3 inches back from the house. Would a circular saw with diamond blade do the job or should I invest in an angle grinder?

    Damp patch

The green bricks are only bottom 8-10 courses. That's a flexible conduit for a cable.

    Damp patch

So I've cleared most of the plant and it looks like the roots of the plant were above DPC level and the worst signs of damp are where the roots are and not the RWP. So could removing the plant fully resolve the issue for the future? And do you see any point in digging by the RWP to look for...

    Damp patch

Thanks for the replies. Here are some more details. 1. The DPC is just above the bottom course of bricks that can be seen. 2. Yeah getting rid of it all. 3. The RWP goes into ground. As far as I know the water goes to mains drainage. 4. There just the door next to it. Main issue seems to be...

    Damp patch

I have noticed this damp patch on the inside of a wall. I can see some green / water marks on the outside and there is a Down pipe located there too. Would it be a case of a damaged gully and I would need to dig to investigate?

    Air Vs airless sprayer

I need to paint a couple of uPVC doors and a window. I have bought an air based sprayer. I am planning on using zinsser allcoat paint, however it mentions using airless sprayer and no mention of air based sprayer. Just wondering if air based sprayer will work? And is there much difference...

Acclimatise laminate flooring in garden building

I am installing laminate flooring in a new garden room, which will be heated over the winter. However I haven't got a heater for the room. Do I need to get a heater for the room and get it to the temperatures it will get to during normal use. I.e. 20 degrees during the day and then whatever it...

Sealer / primer for taped and jointed plasterboard

Did first round of priming and happy with how it has turned out. I have one more question, I have more than half tub of 10 litre paint which has been open for around 2 years, but has been kept indoor. Would there be any harm in a few coats of that, before doing one final coat of my chosen...

Sealer / primer for taped and jointed plasterboard

How important is it to sand after the primer? I just want to use it as an undercoat all over the walls and then paint straight on top of that. Obviously I will sand and fix any imperfections that come to light, but really want to sand it all if I can get away with it.

Sealer / primer for taped and jointed plasterboard

If I use Leyland Trade acrylic primer to only prime the filler, doesn't the plasterboard itself not need sealing? Or should I just apply the primer to whole wall?
