    Boiler for loft conversion

Nothing wrong with it, but need to remove the cold water tank from the attic, so I assume it won’t be usable ? Is that valid assumption? Also it’s 26kw, not sure if that would be sufficient going forward

if I stick to cylinder with shower pumps won’t that mean keeping the cold water tank in the loft?

surface drain / corroded cast iron grill

Hi, The surface drain at the front of the house is clogged up with soil. I tried to remove the cast iron grill it in order to clear the soil but it wouldn't budge. I tried loosening it using gentle hammer taps and a screw driver but that only chipped away bits of corroded iron. I could simply...

    replacing zinc overdoor flat canopy

Hi folks, the zinc sheet on my front door flat canopy has cracked around one side and fallen off. The underlying timbers are exposed to the elements and there's some brown staining visible on the underside of the canopy. I've asked a few guys to take a look but none of them turned up...

raised sand and slab base query

Hi, I want to create a shed base for 8 x 6 ft shiplap shed using dry sand/cement and paving slab method. All guides I've seen on the internet recommend digging a trench for the base. The area where I intend to work on is quite uneven. I've evened it out fairly well but it has meant...

    system boiler installation

cheer mickyg, I'll see what comes out of the quotation process now. Do you know what the main difff. is between the 100-W system boiler and the 200-W system boiler? I can see the latter is bigger and heavier and broader KW outputs, and probably costs are bit more. Website also states "extended...

    system boiler installation

i think so, as plumbnuts said, the system boiler has the pump and expansion vessel inside it, so the radiator circuit must not have a feed into the F&E tank. That's simple capping off job surely ? If I went down this system route, Is the S / Y Plan alteration reqd ? Going back to my...

    system boiler installation

    system boiler installation

Plumbnuts, bit confused now; Viessmann 100-W is available as combi or system according to their web site. Then there is Viessman 100-W Compact which is heat only. The installation .pdf only has diagram showing only 4 pipes: heating flow, heating return, condensate and gas. How would a heat...

    system boiler installation

Cheers darren17, it's definitely single coil. There's alot of cream crusty discharge around the lower stopcock thing below the rad pump. I guess the washer/seals have had it. What am I looking for when doing the magnet test? A build of iron particles which get harder to drag over the...

    system boiler installation

Darren17: how can I tell if cylinder is single or dual coil ? I would assume it is single plumbnuts: I was Reading some website that said gravity and conventional semi gravity systems like mine are no longer allowed by building regs. The hot water cicrcuit has to be pumped. So I assumed I...
