new shower pump intermittent flow when temperature reduced

I've replaced my shower pump because the old one (Stuart turner showermate twin 1.3 bar) leaked. The new one is the same but 1.8 bar. It seems to work fine when the temperature setting is slightly too hot, but when I turn it down a bit, the pump/flow becomes intermittent and/or stops. when...

    stuck hot tap

I've had a look at the video and the first step is to remove the 'end dice' (? not sure what he says there but the top white cap). I've been trying to do this but I can't get a stanley blade underneath the white bit to lever it off. Looking at my tap is it likely to be a case of levering...

OK thanks, I'll take a look inside. I'm assuming to take it apart, I would need to hold one nut steady and turn the other.... which would be which?

    stuck hot tap

When i try to turn the hot tap on in the bathroom sink, it turns a little bit but then gets stuck before any water comes out. Is this a washer issue? Here's a picture of the tap. Any advice on what the problem is and what I need to do to fix it would be much appreciated. Thanks Rich

Advice on an old style fuseboard thats tripped

Is there a way I can drain the water out of the dishwasher and cancel the cycle? Also, is there an issue for my electrics if i try to run the dishwasher again a few times to see if it carries on, if it keeps tripping i mean?

Advice on an old style fuseboard thats tripped

Having got home and done a test it defintely looks like the dishwasher. I untripped the RCD and everything came back on, the dishwasher carried its cycle on and then tripped out again. So I've unplugged the dishwasher and untripped the RCD again and everything has stayed on. I couldnt find...

Advice on an old style fuseboard thats tripped

:D yes I plugged the fridge into the socket on the cooker so its ok. So when I'm checking the fuses, do I just turn the power off, unplug a fuse, turn power back on and see which things dont come on? Then turn power off, plug fuse back in, etc. and carry on until all are done.

Advice on an old style fuseboard thats tripped

OK thanks. My thinking for when I get home is this: - turn mains off and look at the fuse to see if it has tripped (i dont think i have taken the back off yet so im not sure that the soot is new or already there). - Check for a leak near dishwasher. - Unplug dishwasher, turn RCD back...

Advice on an old style fuseboard thats tripped

Thanks for replying, I'll check that all when I get home from work. Is it possible that the electrician that wired the things in the kitchen rewired all the sockets in the downstairs to that new RCD? My initial thoughts was that this RCD was only wired to the oven socket, but from what you...

Advice on an old style fuseboard thats tripped

Hi all, my house has one of the old style fuseboards for the mains electrics. This morning I went to have a shower and found that the pump wasnt working, then found other electrics that weren't working. I took off the cover of the fuseboard and it looks like there is a black stain where the...

Cold water tank draining and lid

We have a stopcock in the cupboard under the stairs, would that shut off the water to the cold water tank? Im not sure of the direction of the pipes or whether it comes to the stopcock first or theres a separate feed to the cold water tank. Once drained, is there any special product to clean...

Cold water tank draining and lid

Hi All. We have a cold water tank in the loft (there's a littel expansion tank there too) and the cover/jacket had fallen in. There was never any rigid cover on it or anything. So now we've removed the cover and thrown that out, but there are bits of foam in the tank and the water is murky...
