Is there any type of door bell push that can't be stolen? Would it have to be wired? We have wireless at the moment and local kids keep stealing them! They have stolen neighbours wired ones too though so not sure if that is the answer. Also, do I have to keep buying the same brand door push as...

I have an old aluminium style double glazed sliding front door. The wood panel on the front has deteriorated over the years and looks very unsightly. Unfortunately I can't afford a new door, but I'd like to make it look better! I think it must be wood veneer, but I'm not sure at this stage...

Thanks very much noseall. Would you suggest supporting the rail from 2 poles underneath, or supporting them from the shelf above? Also, will the shelf itself have enough support if I were to fix it as per the picture?
