    TRV

All other radiators are working fine. When I drained the system there was no sludge coming from the outlets everything was clear. This TRV is a different make to my others it moves freely up and down with a screwdriver head. Even a tip a British Gas engineer showed me by gently tapping it...

    TRV

I changed a TRV on one of radiators two weeks ago as the old was broken. (I tried to release with a screwdriver and also removed the whole pin but the hot water still wasn’t being released through) The pipe around the valve was very hot so it was clearly this. I then replaced the old TRV...

Potterton Suprima 60 HE Ignition Problem

All lights on as per normal, nothing suggesting at all in terms of the electrics that there is a problem. I have done a re-start, I turn the knob to the off position, the light flashes and then when I turn it back on it goes green as it should do and always has done. (I also turned the power...

Bathroom Ventilation / Mould / Dampness

Thanks for all the great advice. I think pretty much I have done what most of you have recommended. My fan is most definitely more than adequate for the bathroom (I did the check on the TLC website and brought the most powerful extracting fan I could find!) My bathroom isn’t that big...

Bathroom Ventilation / Mould / Dampness

I need some heated tiles! I already have a 6“ fan which extracts twice the capacity that the bathroom needs! So it looks as I thought there isn't really an easy solution.

Bathroom Ventilation / Mould / Dampness

The bathroom is fully tiled, one of the walls is external three are not. I have cavity wall insulation and a fully insulated loft. The bathroom is heated prior to showering every morning, it is worse if it isnt. I am sure if I heated all the tiles prior to showering it wouldnt be as bad -...

Bathroom Ventilation / Mould / Dampness

So basically its a problem can't be solved regardless of what I do in the bathroom? I have never had this problem in previous places I have lived!

Bathroom Ventilation / Mould / Dampness

So in effect the only way to stop such wetness in the bathroom would be to redesign it by getting rid of the tiles? Its a huge effort keeping the bathroom dry after a bath / shower and becomes very tiresome through the winter months.

Bathroom Ventilation / Mould / Dampness

Yeah most definitely the correct way up! If it was the wrong way I wouldn't be able to adjust the timer. I can feel it sucking also. Its clearing the steam just not drying the wet tiles after the shower

Bathroom Ventilation / Mould / Dampness

The fan is newly installed so the duct is definitely clear. Its an adjustable timer up to 30 minutes, currently its about 15 minutes run time after the light goes off. So should I have window on its latch slightly open when showering? Or won't I be creating more steam\condensation when the...

Bathroom Ventilation / Mould / Dampness

I live in a semi detached bungalow and have a problem with my bathroom ventilation. After showering or having a bath the tiles are so wet I spend 20minutes plus drying down all the tiles. The whole bathroom is tiled with a plastered ceiling, with a small radiator. I have a 6” ceiling fan...

    TRV Sticking constantly

My pump is knackered anyway, so I will change this first and see if it allows the flow to all radiators. Thanks for all your help.

    TRV Sticking constantly

This last post more to find out peoples general thoughts on what are good a decent CH Pump. I have never heard of Myson so probably will just go for the DAB. Grundfos you pay double for the brand.

    TRV Sticking constantly

I can tell you I do not have two problems. I have a valve next to (about 30cm away) from my pump. I turn this clockwise the two cold rads come on the rest go off. I turn it anti clockwise these two rads go off and the rest come on. This indicates to me that the TRV's are certainly not...

    TRV Sticking constantly

Well turns out my pump was causing the problem! It overheated last night and has broken down. Great diagnosis in the first place by the engineer that the TRV’s were sticking! Currently I have a DAB pump so I am going to do a like for like replacement. I have been told to get a Grundfos...

    TRV Sticking constantly

Thanks for your help. Seems as though the pins are permanently stuck. I have confidence that the system is in very good working order as when the rads worked the once time everything was fine and all other rads are in top shape I have changed TRV’s before by draining down a system so this...
