Jigsaw or Angle grinder to cut tiles?

I'm no expert but I'll reply seeing as you haven't had a pro reply yet. Tanking is basically fully waterproofing the area. it's very important if you're tiling onto plasterboard or the walls around your bath/shower are plasterboard. You can buy tanking compound and kits. There's a 3 minute video...

Jigsaw or Angle grinder to cut tiles?

Cheers again. One last question, I've seen a lot of mention of not using products that are adhesive and grout in one however also from what I'm reading BAL products are highly rated so should a product like this [BAL Tile and Grout] http://www.screwfix.com/p/bal-tile-grout-7-5kg/25925 be avoided...

Best Chisel/tool to flatten concrete jutting out

Hi all, thanks for the replys, the hole was large enough to be bricked in, it was the cement which was very roughly jutting out and what appears to have been a layer of polyfilla or one of those white cavity fillers generously dolloped on top. That was easy to get off, the ridges of cement I...

Best Chisel/tool to flatten concrete jutting out

I'm about to tile my bathroom. One wall must have once had a Boiler and the hole for the vent has been concreted in. This concrete is jutting out and there's no hope of a flat surface to Tile onto. What's the best solution to smoothing down this concrete

    Removed Electric shower

Hi both, thanks for your replies, the cable came in through the ceiling, currently there isn't a ceiling on the bathroom as I'm about to put new plasterboard up and re-plaster. Removed Electric shower

OK, been looking into this further and found Document P: Electrical safety - dwellings (2006 edition), page 9 (General Guidance) paragraph M "The fitting and replacement of cookers and electric showers is not notifiable unless a new circuit is needed." Considering the only change is the...

Recommended companies for double glazing windows

I've had a couple of quotes now, I won't bother mentioning Everests but a local Fensa accredited firm quoted me 3450 to replace the front bay window and for 4 windows around the house that are a decent size, roughly 5ft by 3ft each. Would anyone in the know comment on whether this sounds like a...

Recommended companies for double glazing windows

Thanks Egmel, since posting this topic I've had a look round the web and seen very bad stuff spoken about safestyle uk and that Everest is vastly overpriced. It's really hard to know who to go with but the general concensus seems to be stick with someone local so I'll keep looking

    Best/Recommended Skimming plaster

Yep, the walls paper is all stripped and I washed down the walls to get all the glue and gunk off so I should be fit to go really. The post by Wozza mentions putting two coats of PVA on (1 coat left set for a day), do you think thats necessary, the walls aren't in too bad condition underneath.
