Well start of the job done. Spindle sawn in two and then removed with some wiggling. Theyre well pinned in with 5 pins top and bottom. Now I can cut the spindles I have bought to size and put them in. Thanks John for your help as I would have spent hours trying to take the handrail off! Toby

Hi, My latest hound has managed to chew some of the spindles in my bannister to the point where filling would leave more filler than wood! Is it possible to replace individual spindles? The house is a newish Barrat box so I would imagine the design is quite common. Thanks for looking. Toby
