arrows both ways so assume universal will drain down and look at both sides

thanks for quick reply, have tried that. no joy, can the trv be on the wrong side?

help please? pipe is hot on feed to ordinary valve on left but cold under trv on right? radiator hardly any heat? is this a simple fix? regards steve
