We had this fault (f4) and it was caused by the condensate pipe being blocked by ice. We think the build up of ice backs up the pipe and eventually the boiler has no-where to get rid of the water. So the boiler cant ignite and when you try to it makes a horrible gurgling/banging noise. Anyway...
