    Wallpapering madness

Hello Are there any tips for wallpapering around obstacles, in my case I have a narrow space that includes four corners with curved coving going into the wall, so I have to paper around a range of different sized curves. As I'm using patterned paper, I can see it going pear shaped and cursing...

Lights Out: Altech (?) programmable box

Do you suggest I need to check the power to ensure it's still 'live' or for other / compatibility reasons? P.S. in the meantime I noticed that Amazon seem to have them slightly cheaper: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Danfoss-Randall-FP715SI-Heating-Programmer/dp/B001HB9LAG Thanks again.

Lights Out: Altech (?) programmable box

Thanks HertsBoiler, so would you say I need to just buy one and replace it? i.e. spend the £70, it's not a 'fuse' issue or similar?

Lights Out: Altech (?) programmable box

Hi all I had a power failure earlier due to a dishwasher fusing. Sorted that, but I assume it had a knock on effect on my heating system. The Altech thermostat box downstairs is fine, the power box underneath is fine too, but the box above (not branded, assume Altech too - before our time) is...

Getting right sized fireplace/insert to replace missing one.

After having an old gas fire removed and smashing out the 1970s brick surround, we are now back to the location of the original Victorian fireplace, which is to say, a hole in the wall, that I recently had swept. As luck (or foolhardiness) would have it, I've just purchased a largeish wooden...

Breaking Up Side Path at Double-Depth

I guess this is the best place to put this! In have a side path that I need to get rid of before winter comes. The person who lived in our house before us, stuck a path on top of the existing path, raising it up and tipping it inwards so that when it rains the rainwater scoots straight down...

Dip in Floorboards in Room Corner

We recently removed a laminate floor in the dining room of our house (lived in it for 3 months). At the back of the house, in the far corner of the room the floor there dipped an inch and a half under the skirting board. So, I removed the floorboards there today to see what the issue was and...

    Floor Sanding - Sanding Sheets

Hello Diyisfun, thanks for the reply. Possibly, but I assume the underling in a nationwide chain will have less flexibility to knock down their prices, and in the unlikely event they could, their marginal offer would still not be half price or less than the sale price which is what the...

    Concrete Path Needs Replacing

Update: Well, I got a quote out of interest for somone to do this for me. 6 metres by 1 metre, remove old path and relay slabs on sand and cement. £900 for cheque. Ouch. So rather than playing with cement it seems advisable to do it myself with more of a dry mix and slabs..
