    Dangerous electrical installation

P of d, this is obviously too much for you to handle so just leave it to the big boys. Do you belong to any associations? Just curious. With a name like that I hope you're not a sparky. Again, only a complete tw*t would run to the defence of someone that leaves live cables in a house where...

    Dangerous electrical installation

Johnny G - no, none of them were isolated ...and Prince of Darkness, please keep up... that's why I stopped him with a large chunk of money remaining 8) The other side of the story is: he's NOT a builder, he falsified his references, he had some good workers (bricklayer, carpenters, labourers...

    Dangerous electrical installation

Thanks Sherlock. I certainly don't underestimate the power of the law in my case. Therefore, I do have a solicitor involved already, and the whole reason the electrics were called into question is because of a very long list of defects (not snags) that have developed over the course of the...

    Dangerous electrical installation

Prince of Darkness, you sound just like my builder... Hope my builders case is as strong as yours.. No seriously though.. just to enlighten you, the 'builder' himself made a catalogue of errors from the ground floor to the roof (literally), has had every opportunity to make good...

    Dangerous electrical installation

My cowboy builder subcontracted the sparky from hell. The electrician, barely out of his teens (Part P qual. and 17th ed) has made a catalogue of errors in the wiring of my extension (2 storey side and single storey rear.) The NICEIC electrician I called out to inspect the property found live...

10mm or 15mm fan / centrifugal or axial

I am fitting a new bathroom, with a bath, thermostatic shower and toilet. Can anyone help me make sense of bathroom fan specs? :? What is best 10mm hole has already been drilled, but will a 10mm fan be adequate? None of them seem to match up to the specs as recommended by that calculation...

25mm plywood floor or hardibacker overboarding in bathroom?

This is soooo frustrating! :( The whole reason for lifting the floorboards was to put down a more suitable substrate and now it still seems like the wrong one!! Is WBP more expensive or what? Can't understand why he didn't just get the right stuff in the first place! I am seriously miffed...
