    Best Course Of Action

Just returned from my mums who was having trouble with her security light. Seemingly it had come on this afternoon, three hours later still on. No switch fitted in house to turn light off. After a bit of investigation the flex from the light seems to be wired directly into an upstairs socket...

Songs that creep up on you

Driving home the other night I had the radio on for a bit of background. On came a song I have heard for years but never really listened to. Don McLean - Vincent. What a beautiful song. Anyone care to share the songs they see in a whole new light.

What the feck is going on this season? Every week we get coupon busting results. It's getting so that a man doesn't know what to do with his weekly £1 bet on the fixed odds.

I was telling my mum that I had arranged to have the electrics tested. This led to her telling me it was common to only have one light and one socket per room in her day. She then said it was normal to remove the bulb and connect other appliances through the light fitting. Is this true or is she...

    Testing

Lived in the same house from new for 18 years now. Never had any problems except the occasional trip when a bulb blows. Is it now approaching the time to have it all tested and under normal circumstances what is the lifespan of pvc cable?

    Advice please

The fence at the bottom of the garden has seen better days. Rather than replace it, I'm trying to talk the wife into maybe putting some sort of hedge in. Any advice on something easily looked after and suitable for the birdlife our garden attracts.
