Toilet cistern fills when other toilet flushed

Thanks for your responses. Both toilets have a fluidmaster, but only one exhibits this problem. Does that suggest that the fluidmaster could actually be broken, rather than just a pressure issue? I guess I could swap the two fluidmasters over and see if the fault moves to the other toilet...

Toilet cistern fills when other toilet flushed

No joy. After flushing, the water fills to water fill line. But some time later it has risen to the top of the overflow pipe, so the float of the fluidmaster is now fully submerged.

Toilet cistern fills when other toilet flushed

Yes, mains rate is low. I will try adjusting the water level tonight and let you know how I get on. Thanks.

Toilet cistern fills when other toilet flushed

When I flush our en-suite toilet the cistern of the toilet in the family bathroom begins to fill and empty into the bowl. If I slightly pull up on the lever which I assume controls the water inlet valve, it stops. If I don't stop it manually it continues for 20+ min. It used to only do this...

Not enough water pressure for MegaFlow?

    Thanks, will check that.

Not enough water pressure for MegaFlow?

Ok. I don't know how they measured them and didn't think I'd previously mentioned on here anything about how they took them. But I'll be sure to pass on your opinion of them.

Not enough water pressure for MegaFlow?

Agreed. That's why I want to know what flow & pressure is required for a mega flow, so I can check against the readings the plumbers have taken (which I don't have at the moment)

Not enough water pressure for MegaFlow?

That was the point of my question. Perhaps I didn't word it well. I want to know how increasing the pipe size will help with my issue, as I don't see how it will solve the pressure problem, only increase the flow rate. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask someone why the solution they...

Not enough water pressure for MegaFlow?

Thanks. I think I understand the difference between flow and pressure, but if one or both is insufficient for a mega flow (ie below the figures you started) how will increasing the pipe size help? Will that increase both flow and pressure?

Not enough water pressure for MegaFlow?

Thanks. Out of interest, can you explain what effect increasing the pipe size will have and why that will help?

Not enough water pressure for MegaFlow?

If more than one cold tap is opened in our house the cold water pressure/flow drops considerably. This is a problem when someone is using the shower and a cold tap is run or the toilet flushed, as the shower goes scolding hot. The hot water is fed from a Megaflow. We have had a couple of...

Main fuse / consumer unit query

I'll make sure a medically trained person is present.

Main fuse / consumer unit query

Thanks for your explanation. So if consumer unit and tails are being moved and/or modified (e.g. adding isolator) this can be done by any one as long as the connections to the meter are not touched?

Main fuse / consumer unit query

    Great, conflicting answers :)

Main fuse / consumer unit query

Thanks for your response. From research I've done I'm inclined to agree with you. But electricity supplier have also now said that only they are allowed to touch it. Why would electricity board and supplier (Eastern Electric and Southern Electric) tell me this if it's not true?

Main fuse / consumer unit query

Apologies if I get any terminology wrong - I'm not an expert on these things (hence why I'm here!) - but I need some advice regarding who is allowed to do work to the various parts of the incoming electricity supply. We have just bought a house and it looks like the consumer unit/fuse board...
