    Megaflo

Sorry, probably coming across very thick here but I have a valiant EcoTec 30 system boiler and a megaflo with an internal contraption. Should I have an expansion vessel?

    Megaflo

Thanks for the reply. So if I had a non megaflo cylinder and a boiler that didn’t have an integral one I would have 2 expansion vessels? So by not having any external vessels installed, is this the difference between a heat only boiler vs a system boiler?

    Megaflo

Evening all We have just had a new megaflo and boiler installed in the garage of our new house. We had one in our old house which had a small red tank adjacent which I assumed was some kind of pressure vessel. I’ve looked at various google photos of installations and most seem to have this...

Gas meters and underground pipework (1)

thats great, many thanks. Subject to site conditions, in principal can MDPE be used after a meter? Tracpipe is expensive gear and MDPE is not!

Gas meters and underground pipework (1)

Before i start, i do not intend to undertake any gas work myself and just require a view as to what is possible and suggestions as to the best solution. I have just had my meter moved from under the stairs to a semi recessed meter box on the side of the house. I did all the excavation work...

    Combi

I don’t know what make/model it is; the question is a theoretical one. If the boiler is currently installed to run heating and hot water, can the same boiler be reinstalled elsewhere to run hit water only? I did consider installing the megaflo early but it’s final location doesn’t exist yet as...

    Combi

hi I basically need a temporary boiler whils we renovate our house. All we need it for is hot water as our new megaflo and boiler will be online by the time we need heating. I’ve been offered a second hand combo but would just like to check that it can be used for HW only. Ta

    Matching mortar

I’ve just added a couple of photos. I think a high proportion of the make up is fairly soft with a little bit of quite course sand but this on close inspection appears to be only white. Any idea? If I got the bricky to lay with a standard modern mix, would it be add much to the overall cost if...

    Matching mortar

hi, I’m in the very early stages of planning an extension of or ref stock (they have marstons printed on them) 1953 built house. I have found a pretty good brick match but was wondering if any of you guys in the know could offer some advice on the mortar. The existing house has a very light...

    Teak dining table

Thanks for your advice. most of the finish is gone and not gooey anymore. My dad thinks a cabinet scraper is the way to go but i have no experience using one and i really want to do it myself. Am i liable to make a lash of it having never used one? If i sand it, would it just be a question of...

    Teak dining table

hi all. I have recently bought a rather nice danish solid teak dinig table. It had a thick almost gooey coating on it which i have removed with meths and wire wool but has left what appears to be its original finish which is a very thin matt coating. the table top has some scratches in it which...

ironman, thanks for that. could i ask why you dont like the boiler and cylinder in the loft? we are doing it to save on space, but if there is a compelling reason we could install elsewhere.

    Pipework for megaflo megaflow

thanks, i think i get that. Just to confirm, i'll run a single pipe up to the loft and t into that for toilets and taps to sinks and baths. everything coming out from the megaflow will be done by the plumber. Going back to my original question and from the answers above, there is no need to...
