    Downstairs socket. Wire to common in grey sheath is not part of 3 core, is separate wire UPSTAIRS SOCKET>>>Looking here you should see that there are 3 different cables going to switch, i know this switch is being spurred from an old unit about 5 inches away red red in choc block blue...

    yes i agree, it may have been better to start a new thread, sorry. All the lights upstairs have ceased to work. (i'm hoping that they will spring back to life when this fitting is reinstalled. There used to be another fitting connected to the 2 way switches but that was taken out a while ago...
