Yes its a house wall where they have extended, assume i have permission and want to do it properly.

I want to build a raised planter against my neighbours extension wall, whats the best way to waterproof their side. At the moment soil would be against it from about 40cm high to about 1m high and about 3m long, the bed will only be 30cm wide with a weep hole at one end.

I've now got from botom up 150mm hardcore, sand blinded, visqueen dpm, 100mm concrete (poured last Saturday so i take it its ok to cover now?) should it be another dpm on top of the concrete before the 125mm poly insulation or insulation then dpm??? The rest of the floor will be underfloor...

Thanks the walls are already up in my case. The concrete slab is now down how long should i leave it before covering with the insulation (125mm polystyrene) and do i need to put another layer of visqueen on top of the concrete before the insulation?

Okay 8x2 it is, do i fold the wall dpc down the wall and the floor dpm over the top of it? And my finished screed should be level with the wall dpc?

Cheers but because there is 125mm insulation and 75mm screed going on top of the concrete (because of under floor heating) the tamp would have to be pretty big.

I'm hoping to lay the concrete slab for my extension this weekend and as the walls are up its been suggested that i use battons to get to the right height and level. Does the batton go against the wall and then dpm over it or will this make using the batton difficult? if the dpm goes up the wall...

Ok building control are happy for me to continue, i take it i put the battens in place then the visqueen up the wall and not the other way around? is it a two man job to tamp and level across a 3.2m span?

Thanks all for the advice so far, hardcore and sand now down. Once building control have been i'll be looking to order the concrete which will be from a barrow it in mixed on site firm. If i put battens around to the height of the top of the concrete and use a length of 3x2 will i be able to...

Is it MOT limestone 40mm to dust that i need for the hardcore? Any ideas how many grab bags to do 150mm deep 3.2m x 7.6m? How much building sand do you think i'd need to order?

Cheers, the 65mm was based on polypipes optimum for the underfloor heating, i'll have a check but think they said upto 90mm - so i'll up it especially as the egg carton panels that the pipe lays in has castellations 35mm high. Now to work out quantities.....
