    Decking is different colours

It's still best to treat wood regardless of soft or hard - that's the nature of wood, it should always be treated.

    Decking is different colours

most likely yes but will also start to crack and split by then if not treated and so need to be treated as soon as possible.

    Decking is different colours

Hi all, I've been laying about 30m2 of decking in my garden this summer and it's taken absolutely ages! The problem is however that it was red hardwood. The deck that was laid at the begining has weathered and is now a totally different colour to the boards that went down at the end. Is...

    power in the garage

and im sorry to say that you're obviously someone who never really made it in life aren't you? - someone who's apparently an electrician but is never out on any jobs and is instead always on this forum telling others that they dont have a clue about xy or z. You sure you're not just some geek...

Which cable for an induction Hob?

You need cable which can carry 7200W/230V = 32Amps. Use cabling which can support this. Remember though, you also may want ongoing compatibility (maybe you'll want to change your hob in a few years time by which time you may want something more powerfull). Use this link to work out the best...

    power in the garage

Why is everyone always so negative on this forrum? Chill out and relax everyone - if the guy has a simple question, why can't it just be answered? Why does it have to be kept a secret? And Stanna, I've not really ready many of your posts, but if you really don't understand electrics and/or...

New bath, used for showers, in rented flat -acrylic or steel

As it's a rented flat, the cheapest and easiest option may be to keep the same bath and just paint over the chipped areas with special paint for baths and radiators? Not sure if the current bath is beyond repair but if it is, maybe its an option?

How to fix toilet onto tiled/asphalt floor?

Not too sure what s-t sticks are, I used standard evo-stick silicone in a silicone gun. Secondly, I didn't put any silicone under the pan, just around the sides where the bottom of the pan meets the floor. This way, If in the future I ever need to remove the pan, I can easily cut away the...

How to fix toilet onto tiled/asphalt floor?

Not sure how much help this will be but I've got a laminate bathroom floor with a lot of pipes and cables under the floor boards. I used silicone to stick the pan to the laminate and it worked very well.

    Negative head pump

I think we're all out of ideas, including my plumber with his 20+ years of experience.... real head blower this one. I also thought that the vent was pulling air into the system and was thinking of moving this vent to another point along hot water exit from the cylinder. Just didn't know...

    Negative head pump

This is the strange bit you see, very very strange. The plumber put a push fit stoper on the pipe which comes from the top of the HW cylinder and goes up to the CW tank in the loft and drained the water from the cylinder. he then filled it up again and the ground floor WC tap worked fine. as...

    Negative head pump

oh also forgot to mention, the taps in the bath (on the first floor of the house) are high pressure taps, I replaced this with a low pressure hot water tap and the water flows out perfectly well from this.

    Negative head pump

Ahh, just read the post from Richard C, hadn't seen it before - that pipe was removed and checked (the pipe between the CW tank in the loft and the entry to the cylinder and then put back again - it's a 28mm copper pipe. And I'm guessing that there is enough pressure coming out of the hot...

    Negative head pump

The question that I had was what is so specific about a negative head pump in comparison to other pumps? Other advise is also welcome.

    Negative head pump

Hi, this is what the plumber already tried but it didn't help. The system does look as if it is sucking in air from somewhere but god only knows how. With regards to: To be honest, I can't really remember how the system worked before the cylinder was moved as I just bought the house...

    Negative head pump

Hard to say.... this is the ground floor WC hand wash basin tap. Fed by a 15mm copper pipe, it runs fully turned on for a few minutes, but would be difficult to say quantitatively how much water comes out?

    Negative head pump

The majority of the system is new to be honest, new pipes, joints etc, the only old part is the feed coming down from the upstairs to the downstairs supplying the kitchen and ground floor WC. The ground floor supply pipe was working fine before the system was changed over too. The only...
