    had a combi before in a previous flat & I agree they are very good but there is more to go wrong and if they do break down you are left with no heating or HW plus other factors as well.

    I am thinking about changing the boiler this year, currently an old Spacesaver 38 (S Plan). Talked to one company last week and told him that I didn't want a Combi but that as I live in a flat there is virtually no head ref the F& E tank. He was talking about fitting an expansion vessell...

    thanks for that S. Does the term pumping over only refer to water coming out of the vent pipe or would that include hot water going all the way up the feed pipe into the F&E tank?

    Recently noticed that the feed pipe from the F&E tank gets warmer further up the pipe than the vent pipe, I presume that as the water expands it does heat up these pipes but is this OK? S plan by the way.

    I hope that this isn't a silly question but does water flow faster through an elbow compared to a fully open rad valve (assuming the other rad valve is also fully open?)

    The old rads looked tatty and I was doing up the two rooms in question. No alterations to pipework. Just a thought, would it be worth fitting a piece of copper pipe between the two rad valves to try to get the flow going, would that be less resistance that having a rad there?

    have a problem with two rads that branch off the main circuit. I replaced them both about a year ago, they worked OK then. Recently noticed they were getting less hot and now they are stone cold. Have taken the rads off and opened each valve in turn-the water gushes out. water does'nt gush out...

    Have a friend with a problem on a Baxi Solo 3 PFL70. Overheat light comes on, when reset boiler is Ok again, problem started a few weeks ago and happens about once a week. Fan replaced about 3 months ago. Unvented system, name on tank is AIS OSO. Any thoughts anyone Thanks
