    Shower waste located over joists. Help with cutting joists?

    Hi, I am trying to fit a shower tray but the waste trap falls directly over the joist. I need to cut a 20cm length by 15cm depth in the joist. The joist is 20cm in depth.     Plumbers mait or silicone sealant?

    Hi, I am fitting a waste outlet to an acrylic bath and have used plumbers mait under the flange. Is this Ok or should I have used silicone sealant? What is the difference and is silicone sealant the same as the one used to seal the edge of the bath to the tiles? Thanks for any help.
