Airbricks making room cold, what can I do?

Hi. Just decorating a bedroom. When we took the skirting board off, we noticed daylight coming in. It looks like there is quite a big hole on the inside brick which lines up with the airbrick on the outside. Obviously this is making the room cold. I'm guessing that these bricks should really...

Some of the coping stones are loose and they look pretty sharp. I'm concerned that they area bit of a hazard for a play area for a 4 year-old. I was thinking...

    Borders

Ok, turf is down and I have done a rain dance (apologies). I have left 20cm around for a border, I want this to be maintenance free (as much as possible). I was thinking membrane, some kind of edging, then gravel. Any tips? Pointers to products? Cheers, Mick

"Regular cutting will kill most plants" Rubbish. I want to kill these bulbs before I plant the lawn, not have to mow them every year.

    Laying a lawn.

I am laying a lawn, where I used to have garden. The soil is very old, compressed and full of roots from the plants/shrubs I have ripped out. I have taken as many rooty bits out as possible. Should I dump some new topsoil/sand on top before I lay the turf? Mick

    Garage Conversion

Hi, Trying to convert my garage into an office. Its single skin brick and I am thinking of putting a stud wall in half way down and just insulating the bottom end. At the moment it is damp in there, I think water gets in because the floor inside is the same as outside. How can I...
