Thanks for the reply. I thought having it run towards the retaining wall would be preferable but always good to ask first.

    Aco hexdrain patio install

Hi all. Would appreciate some advice on the planning of this project. House is about 20 years old and has a conservatory that's about 15 years old. The conservatory is square and about 4m across and is constructed with about 7 courses of bricks with UPVC/roof on top. The conservatory is...

    Garage waterproofing questions

Right. After much trawling, I've found this product - PLI-STIX http://www.blackjacksurfacetechnology.com/products/latex-ite-pli-stix-permanent-asphalt-concrete-crack-filler.html It looks pretty much ideal for sealing the gap. £14.99 plus postage.

    Garage waterproofing questions

Thought that was the case but best to ask. I've found "SAFE-SEAL 3405 – Concrete & Asphalt Joint Sealant" [/url]http://www.wrmeadows.com/safe-seal-3405-joint-sealer/ which looks like it would seal the concrete/asphalt join but it doesn't seem readily available here. Anyone know of a similar...

    Garage waterproofing questions

My garage is built on a concrete slab that extends about 300mm beyond the up and over doors. This joins to an asphalt/tarmac(not sure of the difference) drive. The asphalt has crumbled a bit leaving a 8-10mm gap. What could I use to weather seal this gap bearing in mind it has cars driven over...

    Insulating garage roof regs

I had discounted the air bubble type enclosure as being too time consuming to uncover/recover the car until I looked again at the Carcoon site. Their new model, the rigid-framed Veloce, is just two zips to get in/out. My dehumidifier is using 350W so the Carcoon, at about £500, would pay for...

    Insulating garage roof regs

Looks like this is a tricky subject then. I agree that consumer RH meters are rarely accurate to more than 3%. although their readings can be corrected using a simple test using a salt paste to achieve 75% in a sealed container-but less than ideal. I of course accept that the capacity of air...

    Insulating garage roof regs

Well I've installed two remote weather sensors. One in the garage one outside. They both link to a wireless receiver in the house. I'm running the dehumidifier at its lowest setting which consumes 340W. At 4 in the morning, after baby feeding, I had a look at the receiver. Outside was 99%...

    Insulating garage roof regs

You're probably right. But during that time I want to limit, as far as reasonably practical, the car rusting.

    Insulating garage roof regs

I use the garage to store and work on a car I've spent about 1400 hours, and many thousands of pounds, restoring. My chief aim is to create an environment that will limit, as far as reasonably possible, rust. Humidity seems to be the major concern. Heating the garage as it stands, would be very...

    Insulating garage roof regs

Thanks for the reply. After starting the topic I duplicated it in the Building section of the forum as I guess it relates to that more.

    Garage roof insulation

Thank you. Not really thought about heating over and above the dehumidifier that exhausts air at 10 degrees above ambient. As long as the garage stays above 1 degree the dehumidifier should work and keep the RH down. I suppose I could run a small thermostatically controlled electric heater...

    Garage roof insulation

I'm looking to cheaply insulate my detached double garage. It's a single brick wall construction with a tiled pitched roof with a membrane underneath. I use the space in the pitch for storage so don't really want to loose that. I'm just doing the basics at the moment. Insulating the single...

Ideal Classic NF50 not heating radiators?

Tested the pumps today. Tens out that the CH pump is the one on the left. Took the pump out from the housing. The jiggling about must have kick started it as it randomly started working again. It's a little noisy so will keep an eye on it.

Any ideas if the pump on the right is definitely the CH pump?

Ideal Classic NF50 not heating radiators?

Ok. I've just checked the pumps. The cruddy looking one on bottom right of hot water cylinder: 1. Small amount of air escaped when I loosened the screw 2. Water soon began to drip quickly out 3. Makes a hum which changes in pitch when the 3 speed dial is rotated. The better looking...

Here's some pics of what's around the hot water cylinder. I couldn't see anything that looked like the valves I Googled:-(
