    Removing a built-in ceramic hob

    Our ceramic hob is held in by spring clips. Gently prising up with a screwdriver should lift it. The rubber seal on the worktop could be a bit sticky. Hope this helps. JonB

    I also have an old Video recorder connected through a scart lead. Some scarts do not have all the pins connected, try & get one with all the pins in. Mine plays very well but DVDs are a lot better. JonB

    Diy Thanks after a bit of messing about I find it will work in a folder called favorites but not in a folder called Bank. Also I have a folder called Cars & some work others dont. Thanks again JonB

    I have come across them on a rad I bought from B&Q. I think they are to allow the rad to move slightly when expanding & contracting. JonB

    At the head of the email is about 100 addresses all of whom are pensioners I assume. I don't see anything wrong with the figures stated. Defo not BNP just read the papers similar figures are stated nearly every day. Anyone not believing this has their head in the sand. JonB

    Efflorescence

    I had a terraced house c1910 & the plaster was bowing off the wall in exactly the same place as your photo shows. I had a damp survey done & it was damp, at the time council grants were on the go so I had it treated by injection method, central heating fitted & all was well. JonB

    soil pipe

    I cut my cast iron pipe inside with a 4" angle grinder & finished of with a hacksaw. Cast iron cuts easy with a good blade. A bit dusty with the grinder though. JonB
