No haven’t opened or checked anything since guy replaced diverter valve. So no havent cleaned the filter, will wait till SSE comes to replace HE and ask him to check filter too.
ok... looks guys changed the dirverter valve never removed the air from the system!!
- and I removed some of the air the same night (had to do couple of time as presume air/water is all dissolved due to CH running and needed to wait when boiler hasn't been started and allows air to trap in a...
OK another observation, CH cutting and radiator are luke warm.. and seems supply to radiator is super hot but return from the radiator is cold.. that means return within boiler is somewhere blocked!
Guys, me back here; on to the same issue!. We had CH ok (all radiator heating perfect hot) but DHW cutting out. SSE engineers were out and thought its diverter valve.
which was replaced today; but seems situation at boiler ended up bit worst... we had DHW cutting out before; but now its cutting...
@adam911 , managed to get checked.
yeah when DHW on ... CH supply pipe is hot (radiator seems not hot but notice supply at one of the nearest radiator valve is little hot).. infect CH out pipe feels hotter than DHW out!
FYI also i have checked tank sensor + DHW sensor resistance and it reads...
Guys,
Drained the CH system, replaced expansion vessel and currently on Sentinel x400 since 1.5 weeks ...but notice DHW water burner is cutting out time to time when on constant hot water demand! think should remain constant and so water temp fluctuate bit. More noticeable when on shower, not...
if that's the case and heat is being dumped to CH circuit than maybe make sense as only noticing small section of CH out pipe at back of boiler gets hot and no sign of hot radiator. so that's may be good sign.
thanks and ok shall try to see if Worcester able to help or still doing fixed price...
@AGAS , didn't check schrader valve fully - pressed for very brief and notice water out of it. Only logical reason for pressure loss thought to be EV, and didn't notice relief valve cracking..
suppose HE and bypass would make this problem intermittent? - as since y'day HW is running fine (but still CH pipe behind boiler get bit hot while HW is running) - presume only way to know if by taking stuff off...unless there is any way things can be checked w/o taking parts apart?
Folks,
Moved to new property about two years ago, where we have Worcester Highflow 400 Electronic RSF (originally installed ~2002) and looks there are some issues and was wondering if any experts around and able to check in Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire area.
Here's what's happening...
* Started...
Just catching upon this thread, been crazy few days, other half not well and doing taxi service for wee one, just reading all this..thanks to all.
@Agile, thanks and yeah probably very few of the Potterton Puma left suppose..and may be very few expert along with it.
@nickso, your are right...
Ian, thanks and yeah thats what I suspect as its very soft water across Aberdeen but we had one engineer and said its heat exchanger scale causing this, which I doubt due to the same reason above.
We had fluctuating hot water in shower since a while and seems only trick worked was to start...
Guys, is there any one here who know good engineer familiar with Potterton Puma 100e. Its fluctuating HW temperature and seems pointing towards scale in heat exchanger?? Hope not!!! So looking someone to actually diagnose the problem and if thats really a heat exchanger than replace the one...
bob2805,
wondering if you could let me know what was the solution in your case..
we got the same problem, boiler is hunting when any tap/shower is at low flow...(constantly on/off and thus hot-cold-hot cycling water..)
as soon as i open tap fully no problem of hunting (water comes fairly...
