Can a Bulldog Gen2 TRV be recalibrated?

Thanks Madrab, I guess I have a wax leak in the TRV head. I'll see if Pegler want to replace it.

Can a Bulldog Gen2 TRV be recalibrated?

Hello I have fitted the above TRV about two years ago and it has been working fine. More recently, I have found it opening at a higher temperature than I normally set it at in the Summer (1). Can the TRV be recalibrated (i.e. separate the two parts to adjust what the head reads for a given...

Commercial dishwasher on a 32amp ring main

Thank you very much for the insightful comments. I will at least be able to better brief the electrician and hopefully save some time in getting the machine properly installed. Best Regards Bob

Commercial dishwasher on a 32amp ring main

er...how about this weird dishwasher? Looks as though it was designed as a 3phase, then modified to a single phase, giving a much higher current demand in the process. Are such commercial dishwashers usual?

Commercial dishwasher on a 32amp ring main

I would have liked to have shown you the full manual, absolute nightmare, but it was 6.5 Mbytes and the upload limit is 6. I have selected a very few pages that may answer the 'have you got' questions. The model number again is CK50/ABS/DD, the ABS refers to Air Break System, the DD means direct...

Commercial dishwasher on a 32amp ring main

Well, DW now disabled, I won't take a current reading at present set up. Will re wire as radial first....maybe. It appears this is a 3 phase designed DW (finally found a plate) that can be used as single phase. The 3 phase is applicable to the boiler elements (3 with separate contacts) giving...

Commercial dishwasher on a 32amp ring main

Big brakes on.....I followed up the suggestion that 15 amps or so would not necessarily blow a 13amp fuse for a short time (thanks JohnW2). I'm pleased that I did. I have a single phase version. The 3 phase version has a much larger 6kW boiler heater. The literature is quite clear. I questioned...

Commercial dishwasher on a 32amp ring main

My view as well, usually running the cable is the biggest part of a radial job in a decorative environment so might as well leave a bit of spare capacity for the future. Re the 40 minutes to heat up versus two kettles. The heater element in the boiler of the DW is 2.8kW and there is a lot of...

Yes, I think JohnW2's idea of a 20amp might be more appropriate

Commercial dishwasher on a 32amp ring main

What I was clumsily referring to was the split of current down each cable of the ring, proportional to the inverse of the resistance from point of load. I suspect the dishwasher is not at the midpoint of the ring from the equal resistance down each leg perspective.

Commercial dishwasher on a 32amp ring main

Two 3kW kettles in a double socket would give a greater load. The sockets are tested (over hours) to give 20amp safe load (14 + 6 from memory) and the 20amp DP switch is similarly rated. Unconventional you might say, have I checked the load down the short leg and the cable fixing to check for...

Commercial dishwasher on a 32amp ring main

I have been looking at a commercial dishwasher attached by a 13amp fused spur to a 32amp rcbo protected ring circuit. The site is a village hall kitchen with a fridge, water heater, 6 double sockets and the commercial dishwasher on the ring. The dishwasher had not worked for 4 years. I found...
