Plaster uplighters, to paint or not to paint?

I'm putting some plaster uplighters up and I don't know if I should be painting them or not. Is there a recommended way of painting or sealing them or do I just leave them? Thanks

Fcu with flex outlet at the top

Thank you both for the replies. I'm going to install led strips under the kitchen wall cabinets. There's a double socket I can spur from to the fcu but the flex to connect to the led driver needs to go up from the fcu. Just neater than going down and around. I think creating my own outlet hole...

Fcu with flex outlet at the top

Anyone know where I might find one of these? I only see ones with flex outlet at the bottom or front. Or do I just stick one upside down?

    Bay Window Cracks

Yes, we have a plasterer lined up to take a look at it so I'll know more when he gets around to us. Thanks to everyone for the help so far, gives me something to talk to him about. I'll post more after he's had a look.

    Bay Window Cracks

TheOldun Thank you for your reply, it is appreciated but I need to clarify to you that the cracks in the internal walls are on the first floor. The ground floor is in perfect shape. Does this change your opinion in any way?

    Bay Window Cracks

Don't know about load bearing posts but I can tell you the previous window was an old UPVC window. Had a closer look at it since I posted I think the sill on the inside (which was not replaced) has moved and may be the cause of the cracking inside. Might be worth a wait and see what happens...

    Bay Window Cracks

Had some windows replaced recently and I now have some cracks from both bottom corners of the upstairs bay window going straight downwards. There's a draft coming through and we can hear traffic noise too. The background to this was the bedroom wall had suffered some damp and we believed the...

Baxi combo instant 105e - heat exchanger pipes

Thanks brassedoff. I replaced the O rings on the pump manifold a little while back, DIY job for me. And the dhw diaphragm prior to that. Looks like all of the rubber seals are on their way out. Any others I might need to look at?

Baxi combo instant 105e - heat exchanger pipes

Yeah I've been here before with diaphragms and O rings more expensive than I expected but once they were in they were perfect so very much worth it. Oh for anyone who is interested I was in Barcelona and had my pocket picked. If you're thinking of going don't carry too much cash around...

Baxi combo instant 105e - heat exchanger pipes

It's the heat exchanger at the top, part no. 248017. looks like they cost £150 If it's O rings that sounds like it shouldn't cost too much.

Baxi combo instant 105e - heat exchanger pipes

Just come home from a few days away to find water in the boiler cupboard. The boiler was off while we were away. After a bit of investigating I found that the tray beneath the combustion chamber was wet. Both pipes to the heat exchanger had water on them. Looks like there might be leaks from...

Baxi combi 105e instant - Drain Primary circuit

I have a leak coming from the back of the pump. I'm guessing the O rings need to be replaced. The installation guide says I should drain the primary circuit but gives no instructions on how to do it. So, I'd appreciate some help on how to drain and then re-fill this boiler. Thanks

Baxi combi 105e instant - DHW light won't go out

Boiler switches to DHW when hot tap is opened but when the tap is turned off the DHW light stays on and the boiler won't switch back to CH. Took the microswitch off (looks in good order) & tested it manually and light goes on & off as expected. Tried pressing the pin down manually but I...
