    Powermax 155 Descaling

Baxpoti, The Powermax I am working on was previously looked after by DC Heating, the owners uped and went to NZ, they used to descale them at regular intervals due to the hard water in this area, they have appeared on these pages before. I am just after where to connect to to descale the...

    IMI Powermax 155

Hi Baxpoti, Without the central heating onit was pretty cool to the touch and I was surprised at it taking soooo long to heat up. I had to leave in the end and I would say it was around that of the delivery temp. Thanks Dave

    1st PowerFlush

Hi John, To go on a rad is imediately restricting the flow from the flusher, I always go on the pump on a OV system. Have plenty of dustsheets down and go upstairs or alternatively purchase some hose extensions, once you start doing more of them boilers are often found in the loft, so long...

    IMI Powermax 155

Thanks for getting back to me so promptly. Hot water delivery is pretty cool, 32 Degs C, plenty of it though, I even inserted a temporary stop valve on the cold water inlet of the blending valve to prove that what was coming out was going through the heat exchanger. The Hot Water pump is...

A friend of my uncles, neighbours great aunt :D is having trouble getting a G H W system 'gravitating' again and heating the HWC. Central heating which is pumped is fine. Here in Norfolk there are plenty of this type of system about and you can't get people to pay out their hard earned...

    Outdoor Boiler Anti-freeze

Hi, It's a open vented system boiler. Will build in a few valves to enable boiler to be isolated should the need arise. Can't use a freezer which will be a bit of a blow but that's the only real drawback I can see in using anti-freeze. regards dave

    Aqualisa Quartz or Mira Magna

Save yourself a fortune and buy a quatz from Ebay. Before you scoff there are many reputable companies trading, type in aqualisa on the search and pick one being sold by 'unique plumbing supplies', I have found this seller to be very efficient with great prices. Regards Dave

    Outdoor Boiler Anti-freeze

Many thanks for all your input. I have decided to add enough antifreeze to negate the need for a frost or pipestat with the cost being recouped from lower fuel bills throughout the winter months. On each annual service the sg can be checked just as in a car, to ensure suffuicient...

    Outdoor Boiler Anti-freeze

Thanks for that 2sheds. A thought occurred to me, don't get many of them!! The scene, bitterest winter for years, -10 ootside and freezing wind, power is cut off, whats doing to protect the boiler? I'm now thinking to spend £120 on sufficient antifreeze to protect down to say -15...

    Outdoor Boiler Anti-freeze

Thanks for the replys chaps. Hadn't thought of the valid issue 2sheds raised, will definately not use automotive anti-freeze and will go the pipe stat route with the onboard frost thero. Cheers Dave
