    Shed straight concentric supply query

Definitely not swa, gotta plenty of 3 core running round the lights in the garden. At my best guess id say it's around 30mm2 on the Alu cores and slightly less on the copper outers

    Shed straight concentric supply query

I believe the previous owner worked for the electricity board so probably had a bit of cable laying about. Its in a hard duct ( don't know if that's counts as mechanical protection ? ) it goes under the middle of the house then deep under ground to the bottom of the garden where it reappears in...

    Shed straight concentric supply query

Hi all, I've recently moved into my own place where ive found 2 lengths of straight concentric feeding the shed about 30m away. One doing the live and one doing the neutral with the outer sheath's earthed, all into a separate cu in the house. Would anyone be able to tell me if this is up to regs ?

Fitting Hive to Flexicom (GlowWorm) 24cx

Hi there I found this really helpful and just wanted to add the bits I was worried about when wiring mine up. So basically you need to wire up the hive receiver to the same fused spur as the boiler as to not provide two 230v feeds to the boiler Then use a small piece of wire from the permant...

Cutting a stump in front garden

Personally as you have a fair part of the stump left i would dig around it about a foot then wrap around a strop and put a turfor on it , then cut off the roots as they get smaller or as they no longer become a nuisance to you . or if you dont want to hire a turfor, cut it with a cheap £10...

    Shed Building

hi thanks for the link, seems really helpful .. i don't think planning would be a problem considering my existing shed is close to the boundary line and is quite a way over the height regulations , and my surrounding neighbors have outbuildings taller than regulation

    Generator feedin

Well probably would be your best choice is to have a second consumer unit supplying circuits you using during power cuts. You can feed the second consumer unit from a breaker in the main consumer unit and have a smaller transfer switch between the two units. like this one...
