I had a problem which the engineer solved by detaching the flue fan plastic tube and blowing into it. After he replaced it the boiler fired. It happened again after a couple of days. He doesn't say what the problem is but seems to suggest I should consider a new boiler. Is the problem I have...

Six months ago my new bathroom was finished off with vinyl floor covering. After it was laid the plumber sealed all the edges with high quality sealant. Now the vinyl has "rucked" and I have to remove the vinyl and replace it. Is it wise to immediately seal a newly laid vinyl flooring ?.

I bought one of these and it had two washers supplied. Cannot figure out why it would need a rubber washer in the hose end that screws onto the device. Has anyone fitted one of these please and does it really need two washers.

I have a Toshiba 32" Flat Screen WLT58 TV but I am finding that it is difficult to hear (my age I guess). I am wondering whether to experiment with adding speakers. Not surround sound but say 2 speakers. I heard that Creative T10 speakers which are neat might work. As a novice I would be pleased...
My boiler is in a very cold garage . In winter the frost stat operates and overides all other controls. There is no return pipe thermostat on the Gloworm swiftflow. Consequently the temperature in the house rockets up to 25c at night.
I believe it might be possible to fit a return pipe...

My programmer is calling for central heating but it wont fire. I get hot water ok. Discovered that if I meddle with the frost thermostat and raise it to about 7 degrees, the boiler will fire up the central heating. Its not satisfactory as I want the programmable thermostat to do the job. Any...
