I would like any suggestions (as long as they're not sarcastic or stupid etc.) on how to fix my dishwasher. It starts to fill initially with water then stops but the cycle continues without actually washing anything.

My dishwasher starts the cycle and begins to fill but stops and does not continue with the wash cycles. Any suggestions....machine only 18 mths old. ?
