So sounds like your going for a new cylinder? Will you be trying for refund from Gledhill? Have you fitted the cylinder yourself?

I know you posted your solution and explanation on the other thread Mickyg but I made this thread before I found the other thread who had the same problem as me. Im not sure what the dynamic pressure is, with the problem being last year I cant honestly remember what the results were?

Have you changed the cold water combi valve that came with the cylinder?

I certainly do have the G3 cert thanks CBF

I didn't change the cold water controls when i swopped the cylinder, so a sticking nrv could be possible? The expansion vessel is a 24L plus i fitted a 12L

oh i see.. What have been the readings from the gauge on the hot water side?

Have you tried reducing the pressure of the expansion vessel?

Shame it didn't sort the noise out...... Yes I agree that the customer would not think too much about the lower pressure setting. So you've put the pressure reducer on the out going hot?

I too have been having trouble with a Gledhill unvented indirect cylinder, which I installed last summer and haven't been able to resolve! The symptoms sound pretty much like what has been described on here. A loud bang/crack from the cylinder when a hot tap is run but not all the time...
