How to fix mud pile of a garden after recent fence work

Thanks, the garden isn't particularly big, maybe 8x8m so I will wait until next month and then try the idea with the fleece. Is this the same fleece you'd use over the winter for frost protection of the grass?

How to fix mud pile of a garden after recent fence work

To be honest, I'm not particularly sure but reading online seemed to suggest fertilizer after aerating. Basically that's why I've posted the question, I have very limited (zero) experience with anything out with of basic garden maintenance

How to fix mud pile of a garden after recent fence work

Hi all Unfortunately I have zero gardening experience and looking for some help in making my now mud pit of a garden somewhat more presentable in advance of putting house on the market. I've recently had a fence installed that's left the grass destroyed and it now just a muddy building site (so...

If it comes to it, how easy are these valves to fix or replace?

Apologies as this is a bit of a cross post. I've had to try to isolate my washing machine hose tonight for it to be replaced tomorrow night. When going to do this I noticed that the valve wasn't fully open/vertical. I've tried to close it and can't get it fully horizontal. Had a bit of a Google...

Is this isolated enough? Also standard filling hose length

Hi all I'm trying to isolate my washing machine in preparation for it being removed and replaced tomorrow night. I can't get the isolator to go fully horizontal (access is pretty difficult, this photo was taken by stretching one arm into a gap). Also when I 1st went to isolate it I noticed it...

Daughter spilled drink over gas cooker and now ignition constantly clicking

Did you have the front dismantled when you did this to get direct access to the contacts?

Daughter spilled drink over gas cooker and now ignition constantly clicking

Hi, do you mean the actual burners on the top of the cooker or the rings to control it on the front? ( Apologies probably a dart question but I'd rather be sure) The tops fine as the glass cover was down so all liquid came down front if cooker

Daughter spilled drink over gas cooker and now ignition constantly clicking

Hi allas the title says, my daughter spilled a full cup of hot chocolate over the gas cooker, it seems to have got into the ignition switch and shorted out the contacts so that it is constantly clicking. I've isolated the electrical supply to it to stop this happening. I'm looking to get into...

Another garden tap question. Tap is siezed and can't be drained down, still ok to isolate?

Also I should add that the tap does normally have a frost cover on it

Another garden tap question. Tap is siezed and can't be drained down, still ok to isolate?

Yeah that was my fear with this, that it's basically an easy but not very robust method of fitting a tap. In fairness it was my wifes hairbrained scheme. Tap is below. Just in case there is any ice in the pipework (been -8 here for a few days) I've left the white handle isolated and the tap...

Another garden tap question. Tap is siezed and can't be drained down, still ok to isolate?

Thanks mate. Yeah white handle is supply to tap. Out of interest, have you ever used these self cutting/self sealing kits before? I've been pretty wary since day 1 of interfering with it too much in case it causes a leak. Also, any idea what the screw on the side is? I wondered if it was to...

Another garden tap question. Tap is siezed and can't be drained down, still ok to isolate?

Thanks for that. Above is what I'm working with, anything here as a drain point?

Another garden tap question. Tap is siezed and can't be drained down, still ok to isolate?

Hi all I realise that garden tap questions are all the range this time of year but I thought I'd ask anyway. I have just isolated mine under the sink but can get the actual tap to open to drain down. essentially I know have a volume of water in the pipework that is isolated at both sides, is...

How feasible is it to dismantle kitchen units and then reassemble?

Issue is that I want to see and get access to the inside of the external wall. At the moment I can remove the kickplate and feel a draught but can get close enough to the wall to see where it's coming in

How feasible is it to dismantle kitchen units and then reassemble?

Thanks all for the replies. The picture below shows the cupboard I want to take the back out of. Please ignore water damage on the front

How feasible is it to dismantle kitchen units and then reassemble?

Hi all I have standard kitchen units, I want to get access behind) below them to try to identify source of draught. To do this I'd have to carefully dismantle carcass, leave sink/worktop supported in place and then rebuild. Is this feasible for someone with limited DIY experience?

Best way of draught proofing this gap

Hi all The wood above is under my uPVC front door, there is a reasonable gap to the floor. I don't know what is under/behind this but there is quite a bad draught getting in through it. I'd like to draught proof this, I'm thinking about just sealing with silicone but not sure if there's a...

Any idea what this darker coloured loft insulation is?

Hi, thanks. I think I will avoid disturbing it any further for now just in case although I did re-read your initial comment about asbestos insulation not being used domestically which is reassuring. Funnily enough I was actually attempting to just that tip regarding pulling back the insulation...

Any idea what this darker coloured loft insulation is?

Hi thanks for the reply. I was talking about the stuff of the "floor" of the loft. Basically there's modernish yellow/standard insulation on the top layer but after I pulled that back there's much darker stuff, not sure how clear it is on the photo but you should be able to see there's maybe 3...

Any idea what this darker coloured loft insulation is?

I was trying to pull back insulation in my loft earlier to get some better airflow and this darker coloured insulation down at the eaves seemed to come away in my hand. I'm a bit concerned it's something that shouldn't have been interfered with, any ideas what sort of insulation it is? House is...
