    Mira Flight shower trays.

Hi all. Was thinking about installing one of the above trays then saw a YouTube vid by Roger Bisby detailing some quality control issues. Does anyone know if these issues have been addressed? Asked the question in the comments section of the vid but no one has responded. If not, any...

    MDF Plinth question

Just removed the plinths from a recently fitted kitchen. Under the shiny plastic exterior, they're MDF construction. They've been cut on one edge to suit the uneven floor. What's the best way of treating them to prevent damage from moisture ingress? TIA

    B&M Laminate

Anyone have any experience with the laminate flooring sold in B&M? Is it any good, or is it best avoided. Not needing a lot as it's for a conservatory. Willing to pay a bit extra for decent brand if necessary. TIA

    Armstead Quick Dry Satin

Screwfix have stopped selling it and Dulux Decorator centre wants stupid money for a 2.5 ltr tin. Can anyone suggest a similar, decent replacement that won't require a bank loan to purchase? TIA.

    Outside light question

Existing 500w PIR floodlight has packed up and needs to be replaced, 8w/15w PIR would do. Would also like to install another 8w floodlight without PIR that comes on at the same time. Could this be done? I was thinking maybe picking up power from the neutral core of the first light? Not a spark...

    Fixing upvc skirting.

Hi all. Looking for recommendations for a decent method of fixing upvc skirting to a plastered wall. Don't know what the "professional" used but it hasn't lasted three months. TIA P. S. Tried to post a pic but I keep getting a "Security Error" message.

    Moisture Resistant Chipboard Flooring Fumes

Recently replaced the old damaged floorboards in a bedroom with this stuff. Haven't carpeted it yet as it was just going to be a "chill room" for me. Problem is, the stuff stinks. Have put air fresheners in the room to mask the smell but I can still feel and taste the effects of the "fumes". Any...

    Quick question

I've had some walls skimmed recently and I'm ready to apply the mist coat. Do I need to wash the walls down prior to painting them.? I've only seen one guy anywhere suggest that but it's preying on my mind. Maybe the other hundred posters of advice were forgetful and omitted that piece of...

    Fence Repair

I'm planning on fitting some new posts to support a bowed fence. It's individual 6" boards with a top, middle and bottom rail. Just wondering if I should set the posts away from the rails a bit till the concrete/ post mix dries and then make up the gap with some treated timber. I'm more...

    Radiator painting question.

I have a radiator that has previously been painted with solvent based radiator enamel. I've sanded it down and want to repaint it using a water based satin radiator paint. Was just wondering if I should apply some sort of undercoat first? I have some Zinnser Bullseye 123, would this be suitable...

    Acrylic bath repair.

Friend of SWMBO just lost her kitchen ceiling to a leak under the bath. Just been to have a look and it's the corner bath itself that has sprung a leak. No obvious damage looking into the bath. Good access underneath. Anyone got any suggestions for a repair? I've got some Flexacryl(?) roof...

    Any suggestions??

Have just got rid of the lawn out the front of the house and chucked a load of gravel down. Was looking for something solitary as a central feature and quite fancied an acer but on reading up, they may not like the exposed, sunny position or the clay soil. Not looking for anything too big...

I have a ceiling painted with vinyl silk that I now wish to paint with matt emulsion. I have a tin of Dulux water-based primer and undercoat. Could I just go over the existing silk emulsion with the Dulux stuff and then apply the matt emulsion or would I still need to sand the silk paint to...

    Wallpapering advice.

Have just removed some lining paper in a bedroom. In some places it literally fell off. We have concrete guttering that bridges the cavity and is a permanent cold spot on one wall, the other area it peeled off easily was behind the radiator. The walls were sized prior to this paper being hung...

    Zinnser Bullseye 123 questions.

Have a tin of this stuff that I'm going to use over some existing oil based gloss. I have some bare wood skirting that I thought I may as well give a coat to. Once applied to the gloss, should I then use a WB undercoat prior to applying the top coat, (thinking Armstead Quick Dry satin), or can...
