Thanks for the replay that may well be it as it did have a porous surface. While they looked like slate I dont think they are I think they are ceramic. I will give it a try as its driving me nuts thanks again

Hi i am in need of some advice I had some chipped floor ties so thought the best bet was to paint them. I thought they were a slate tile as they have that look but am starting to doubt that. I used diamond hard by ronseal it looked great but after a short while its started to come away...
