Hi we are having new radiators fitted the plumber has recommended we have drain off valves. I’ve seen two but don’t know which are the best ones. Choices are terrier 3 by Pegler or drayton RT 414.
Hi can someone advise if it’s bestter to have pine skirting boards or MDF and the reason why. They will be painted white so I’m not worried about needing to stain wood. Thanks
I agree have decided after further research to use Celotex instead and board over that. Any idea on how thick the top board would need to be so the Celotex doesn't crack when walked on?
No there's fibre type insulation and then loft boards, I was thinking of adding the celotex on top of the loft boards and then adding more loft boards so it can be walked on
Sorry I mean the roof has been refelted, all tiles removed and felt laid new baton and tiles put back on.
Yes we should be able to fix new boards down will using the insulation boards make much of a difference?
Thank you I've just had the loft re-felted and want to improve the insulation as much as possible. My loft has the fibre insulation down both sides and then was already boarded down the middle. I was planning on adding extra fibre insulation over the existing however do have a query with...
is there such a thing as too much insulation you can have in a loft someone recently told me too much can make the loft sweat but I can't see how this is possible?
Thanks
Wendy
hi
I've got quite a bit of laminate flooring underlay and several packs of loft boards. My loft is already boarded can I put the underlay down and then more boards on top? Will this help with insulation or have no affect at all.
Thank in advance for all replies
hi everyone,
I know this is very subject to factors like size access etc but what would be a ball park figure to repoint a chimney, replace flashing, felt whole roof and reuse original tiles to include scaffolding cost too?
That's great thanks Sorry another question down the centre of the loft has been boarded over which has squashed down the insulation, I've read about raising joists and this isn't something we can do so I'm wondering what to do. Someone I read mentioned celotex or kingspan being used under the...
Hi our loft has what looks like really old loft insulation in it. Could someone let me if I can buy new and lay over the top or should we get rid and start again. About to have some work done on the roof and would like to get this sorted at same time. Thanks in advance
Thanks, someone recommended the foam hence my question, why is it bad out of curiosity? I think I'd like the felt renewed to keep the attic cleaner as the areas where it's ripped are very dirty and we use the attic to store stuff.
hi just been in the attic and discovered a leak as items are very wet but can't see where it's coming from we've also got something that has chewed through paper so I'm thinking a mouse.
We need to serious overal the attic space as we had birds nesting in there in the summer, so my question...
