    Rad Tail Stuck

Was attempting to change a (very old!) radiator valve and needed to change the tail too. Radiator spanner is now just spinning on the inside of the radiator tail. Any suggestions as to how to get it out? I've also tried this which seemed to work a little but again now just spinning: Nothing...

    Push Button Flush Stuck

IMAG1506 by siwhitt posted 5 Jan 2016 at 10:33 PM My not-very-easily-accessible push-button flush is sticking; it continues to flush until I peel everything back and shake the cable a little. Something is jamming in the flush valve shown towards the left in the image above, but I can't figure...

    Valve Next to Fireplace

Thanks. Suspected it was gas, but really didn't want to mess around with it to confirm. Should have posted a picture of the fireplace in its entirety. It's an original cast iron insert, with absolutely no evidence of anything but solid fuel having been used.

    Valve Next to Fireplace

Can anyone tell me what this valve is for on our hearth next to the fireplace as Google isn't coming up with any answers?

    Underfloor Heating

We have one small radiator in the lounge. It's unsightly and doesn't provide us with sufficient heat, so it's going. Yes, the laminate we've chosen is compatible with the foil system, and we're replacing an existing laminate floor so noise will be no more of a concern that it is now. We need...

    Underfloor Heating

We plan to install Warmup foil heaters in our lounge (under laminate). We need coverage of 19 square metres, so plan to install two 140W heaters: a 12 square metre and a 7 square metre for a total of 11.56 Amps according to page 6 of the manual...

    Flat Roof Drainage

Come Spring I'm replacing this section of flat roof (used as a roof terrace) with a new GRP roof. It's around 16-17 square metres in size. Can anyone advise how the correct drainage should be achieved? The roof falls towards a small channel running the entire length of the side wall...

    Plant Roots Interior Wall

Absolutely right, and we've had a couple of quotes through for the exterior work already (there are a coupe of areas need sorting out over and above this one). Could do with some advice as to how we sort the interior once the exterior is sorted.

    Plant Roots Interior Wall

Could anyone advise how I best patch up this mess please? We live on the 2nd (top) floor of an old terrace house built circa 1890. A number of months ago I noticed a small damp patch in one corner of our bedroom just above the skirting board. The lining paper had also begun to come away from...
