Flippin' marvellous. This was just the steer I needed to dig a bit deeper. Bought a new capacitor (rather bigger than the old one but same tech spec) and hey presto, it works; happy family again. Need a bit of modification to the casing to fit it but no probs with that. Many thanks, Tryitandsee...
