    Help no hot water!

There's no one questioning your training here.....

    Help no hot water!

Yeah, could be the bypass fully open and robbing the heat circuit of flow. Personally, id bleed the rads first and take it from there. There's always more than one way of working, bro.

    Help no hot water!

East is right. You have air in the rads. Just go buy a brass vent key, turn the heating and water off at the timer and vent them with a cloth. There's no air lock as the rads are hot at the bottom.

Help, Central Heating Hot Water Problem

Ok my friend. i bet it's the hot water m v. It's probably broken or jammed. If the heating water is dirty, ask him to fit a magnaclean. Worth every penny as they stop things jamming with sludge / iron oxide particles.

Help, Central Heating Hot Water Problem

Hi Danzil, ok, this is a tricky one! How quick do all the rads get hot when the heating is switched on? I still think it's all down to that motorised valve. It's as if the valve has broken inside. Sorry, but I think it's a drain down and inspect that valve. If it's broke, just get one...

Help, Central Heating Hot Water Problem

It could be a pump problem. When the pump is running, put a screwdriver tip against it and listen. If it's a high speed sound, the pump's ok, if it's a low speed noise, then that could be the issue. Is the cylinder miles away from the pump?

3600 litres of warm water for baptistery?

Another thing I need to check out, lol. I know that the buildings are quite high as its a built up area, but so is this one. Hmmmm.... Done a few solar jobs and even got the filling station so that wouldn't be a problem.

3600 litres of warm water for baptistery?

Lol, guys. Well, I have seen many people baptised in the sea, rivers and even hill lochs surrounded by snow! The idea of a plate heat exchanger sounds good. I'll have to investigate that more. its something that will work and work well. Many thanks. I thought you might like this thread as...

3600 litres of warm water for baptistery?

Hey, thanks for all the advice so far. And no, I'm not a Baptist. I'm part of an independent evangelical Church called 'Destiny'. I appreciate the humour though. I'll suggest a hot tub and see how long is is before I'm thrown out, lol. I was thinking about an Andrews heater. I'll have to...

3600 litres of warm water for baptistery?

Hi. My local Church has a 3600 litre baptising pool that needs filling once every six weeks or so. Stored water is out due the volume required and physical space for plant available. Also we are starting to delve into the depths of Legionella. So.... Without using the five letter 'C' word what...

    Gas pipe

I agree. Easy. Get it done while the boiler is being serviced.

    Struggling to fit a TRV

Seriously???? Welcome to the modern world of plumbing. Half of what you use is 'plastic rubbish' so don't even go there. Magnaclean's are a first class product that's effective and easy to use, saving the general public from lots of heating faults. Look about and see what the other guys are...

Help, Central Heating Hot Water Problem

Hi. Ok, so you found the m v. Take on board what's been said about identifying which is which. Use a marker pen and write ch or hw on them as appropriate. Take the two screws out and remove the actuator head. It's safe so be cool. No danger. Grab the protruding spade and try to turn it by hand...

Help, Central Heating Hot Water Problem

Hi mate. Ok, what you probably have is a motorised valve with a faulty syncron motor. Before the fault, was it possible to run the heating without the hot water on? Try this now with the programmer. If this is possible, then you need to start tracing the pipework, looking for that m v. What kind...

    Struggling to fit a TRV

It is always possible. It's just your imagination that's stopping you, lol. There's always a way. Drain it and get cracking! Maybe use the kick space below the other units as a place to coil the new pipe into the heater. That's what I would do.

    Struggling to fit a TRV

Oh, and if you have sludge in the system, fit an ADAY magnaclean. It will save you a packet in the long term.

    Struggling to fit a TRV

Flexy pipe connections are real handy and easy to use, but as you said, very restrictive. Get some full bore butterfly valves and some 15mm barrier pipe. To make it flexible, just add bends. Should work a treat.

    Gas pipe

Assuming that the rest of the gas system is good, then it's a 30 minute job plus traveling time. Lift the board for him and wire wool the pipe. £40 should be about right. Maybe have it done while you get the boiler serviced..... Cheaper still.

Radiator and insulated plasterboard with DPM

Fixing onto a dot and dab wall can be fun! Mark the brackets and do one fixing at a time. It all depends on where the dabs are and how heavy the rad is. If you hit a dab, then it's plugs and screws. If you hit a void, then try to get a 5 point umbrella fixing in. If it's too long, run a 7mm sds...
