EasiFill with BIN Zinsser as a primer sealer before painting instead of mist coat.

Hi, Thank you for your comprehensive reply, I have read it a couple of times and noted all you have said. I think I will do the following: - PVA the bare plaster and painted walls. EasiFill the bare plaster (which is rough in just a few places) and painted walls, a skim coat everywhere (I...

EasiFill with BIN Zinsser as a primer sealer before painting instead of mist coat.

Hi, I have a room, 1 wall back to bare plaster (but not smooth) and 3 walls sanded mainly back to solid paint and solid paint / plaster...all walls not smooth. I intend to skim a thin coat of EasiFill on all walls. British Gypsum say not to pva the bare plaster walls and could not comment on...

Aah, okay. So the oil will effectively cover the white filler and caulk or whatever (with various coats to cover) ....with the stain then sealing that in? I am not at all sure I'd be able to get the pens in to the crevices and angles were spindles meet baserail and top rail.

Thanks to everyone, a lot to think about. Opps, when you say "oil based stain to colour the white filler, then apply a coloured oil such as Sadolins"....aren't an oil based stain and a coloured oil the same thing? I mean as an example Sadolin Classic Wood Protection is solvent based...and is...

Thanks. Although was hoping that I could avoid gloss paint and use something that would show the grain.

    Bannister, post and spindles

Hi, I have an old Victorian terraced house and have stripped the bannisters, post and spindles back to bare wood. It is very old wood, previously filled and painted many times, a lot of wear and some splits and holes that were previously filled with white filler, as well as small bits of old...

    Dual 230v shaver socket outlet

Seen similar issues here but nothing conclusively. My problem is that I am trying to split an existing 2 pronged wall mounted shaver socket in to two. This so to accommodate permanent things plugged in, namely a rechargeable toothbrush and shaver. Does such a thing exist? I ask as some have...

    Kitchen Cabinet Edging.

Brilliant, thank you. Got most of that already ready...I didn't even think about contact glue. Any preferences as to make? Of course I will only need a small amount. Thanks again.

    Kitchen Cabinet Edging.

I have to put some 18mm edging on the face edge of a kitchen cabinet/carcass. This edging isn't self adhesive or iron on. The old edge will remain, so this go on top of the existing. Does anyone have any ideas how to get this properly stuck on? Thanks John
