    True black paint

Well, update for those looking for a true gray: FOUND IT!!!! It's Dulux icestorm 6. They don't have it pre-mixed, but you can go to any dulux trade centre and they will mix it up for you. It's great!!

    Bronze chain link

HI! I've just hanged and old chandelier in the living room. The problem is that one of the lamp holders was broken, so I need to replace it. Even when this piece is not visible (will be covered by a candle-like cover), I'd still like to keep the whole chandelier as original as possible. But I'm...

    New loft hatch

I own both, but since I'll probably will need to cut some joists to do the opening, I thought that maybe I would need permission or something. Is not the case, then?

    New loft hatch

Hi! I have a weird loft hatch in the bathroom in my flat. I'm about to start the bathroom renovation , next week, and I'd like to close that access and open a new loft access in the hallway. Do I need any kind or permission or certificate? I asked in the council, but they didn't answered so...

    Lower door frame height

That could be a VERY doable option indeed, Owain! Anyway, my original idea was not to cut original mouldings (no way!!), but to add something to the inner frame (inside the door frame) to lower the height. The thing is, I don't know how would it look. Thank you!

    True black paint

Hi! The problem with the pre-mixed colours and undertones, is that my flat have north facing windows. The light is colder and any undertone will come up really badly. I've already painted a whole bedroom in a "gray" tone and it looks baby blue! hahaha I guess I'll have to buy black paint in...

    Lower door frame height

Hi Vinn, thanks for your answer. I imagine you are talking about something like this: http://www.beware-asbestos.info/sites/default/files/styles/gallery_fullsize/public/DSCF7945.jpg?itok=u1NqCgzN Isn't it? The problem is that I have lo lower the head just 10cm approx. in each door. :(

    Lower door frame height

Hi Vinn, My idea is to change the height of the inner door frame and leave the original size with the door moulding and all. Sadly restoring a tenement flat is very expensive, and I do the best I can within my budget. Made to measure doors are ridiculous expensive (And mind you, I have to...

    Lower door frame height

Hi! I bought a tenement flat that had original doors replaced by horrendous plain doors (ex-HMO). I want to put back nice victorian looking doors (I don't care if they are original or not), but the problem is that all the doors are non-standard size (too high). Is there any easy way to lower...

    True black paint

Hi all! After countless paint tester pots and two failed walls decoration, I just had to give up trying to find a TRUE gray colour for my walls. All of them have undertones. (green-blue most of all). When I saw that there's no pre-mixed paint out there without undertones, I decided to do my...
