    Usually these provide sufficient height for insulation. The only way to board this loft would be to build a timber subframe into the metal joists first and then install the boards onto the subframe afterwards.

    You should leave a 50mm air gap between the insulation and the boards to allow adequate ventilation. We tested loft legs and found them unsuitable but many people do use them.
