Info on a dedicated circuit for a welding machine required.

Two sparkys and myself are amused by these replies, that's why. ***This thread is now locked as it is doing nothing apart from wasting everyone's time as the OP clearly knows it all. Mod 8***

No. This is a sticky on how not to give advice, be as awkward as possible, be banal and a cliche.

Haha a cooker connection unit that has MCB's RCD's and RCBO's. Sarcasm really is the dumbest form of wit! Edit: A tad harsh maybe but if you read the thread all the way through......

Does the switch isolate the supply, yes or no? No bullshit just yes or no.

Exactly but surely this must be a wind up or the people replying to this thread with all the experience and knowledge need a reality check before they flame on.

Well it would to you wouldn't it because you don't have enough people skills to realise that you don't deserve an explanation.

Not going to happen now purely because I would rather shove wasps up my arse than share the solution with the people on here.

Yes I do know this, what do you think a switched fuse means? Let me spell it out for you like this...

You don't know what an RCBO is do you.

Info on a dedicated circuit for a welding machine required.

Get off your high horse, I don't need you to tell me to get an electrician. I have a genuine interest in how everything works in my house. It was a mistake asking for advice on here, a very small percentage of replies was actually informative.

Read what you wrote out loud and you'll see what I mean, I don't have time to talk Vulcan with you.

Yes I know that, jeez do us newbies really need to be so anal when writing a post trying to explain an idea. This is my anal reply - Your statement implies that I have said that a CU protects cables?!? Obviously not what you meant but one good deed deserves another.

Ok I'm not saying your not right, don't be so touchy, I'm just giving more information about what the situation is incase it makes a difference to the design in regards to safety. While I'm at it I might as well explain that the new CCU will be in an extension which is Henley blocked and has the...

The CCU is already protected by a 80A DP switch fuse by the way, should I put another one in to protect the garage CCU? It seems a bit overkill to me, I mean the welder has 25A protection built in with a 32A MCB and there's a 63A RCBO behind it ready to trip if any or all the circuits in the...

I don't have the CCU, the whole question is hypothetical, the only thing that can't be changed is the 16mm SWA.

Maybe I never explained it very well but it is not that hard to see what I need. The set-up so far is a 63A RCBO from an unprotected way in the CCU that feeds the garage CCU. I am wondering if I would be allowed to use a MCB instead because the cable is about 5" behind the wall and its clipped...

    Good explanation Bernard.

Again interesting info but why would that happen when the supply to the house is much larger than the in-rush of current being drawn?

Thanks for your input, I had a hunch that the inverter manages this in some clever way. So do you think I'll be ok with a 16A commando socket and a 16A MCB type B then?
