Hallo.
I'm looking to replace the existing single rose in my living room with some LV downlighters.
I'm not final on how many, but at present it's looking like 6 or 7 20W ones. 6 x 35W ones would be var too many, as it's a smallish room.
There are a couple of things getting in the way...
Found it. The other end of said neutral wire had popped out of the socket fitting on the next link down.
No harm done, and all is fine now. Thx all.
Don't know if this will help.

Based on the numbers 7Kw may be ok, but I'd get the cable length and insulation factors worked in. 10mm cable would have been better, like you said.
Yes, I had a think after the post last night. I was really tired, and didn't want to muck around late on.
I'll test the other end of the neutral for any current, and if necessary, I'll swap in another cable for testing.
Oh and I did have one RCD problem. A cheap £5 iron that the missus bought kept tripping the circuit....think it was the thermostat or summat. Bucketed the thing sharpish.
Not an expert, but when re-wiring my old place, I got a split MCB circuit box, and left the fridge, freezer and essential low requirement sockets (e.g. the PC) off of the RCD. The rest of the kitchen and the other sockets were put on two 32A MCBs on the RCD.
Just my tuppence. :D
Hallo.
I'm going to be working on replacing the sockets in the kitchen. I have a single ring for the sockets of the house, including the kitchen (the house is quite small).
I traced the wiring and disconnected the ring cables on either side of the kitchen so there should still be power to...
