    Good evening Ken, I will try give the stack a clean tomorrow, taking it wire brush would be best? The lower toilet has no vent at all but is in like a outhouse see picture and the upstairs comes out the roof and is just a pipe so cannot see if it's clear other than from the ground?

    No other form of ventilation other than the one air brick, so I'll add that to the list. There is a good 6 inches from the floor to the bottom of the door so would say some form if insulation on the floor then board over it, and if I do that then I would need to raise the toilet.

    Thank you for your reply, I don' mind spending a few pennies just not thousands, can I just screw the plasterboard strait to the brick work or do I need to make a frame up for that too? Also you say about a vent there is a air brick towards the top of the wall would this be ok or do I need one...

    Yes we have an upstairs one. However we have a few disabled members of family that visit and they struggle with stairs.

    The left side of the wall has another room with a fridge in and the right side is outside Wall to the garden. The door has a large step so no floor coverings should interfere.

    I was hoping for a close coupled one and also been looking at the ones with a built-in sink to save space but undecided. Not noticed any problems with the floor and damp, I do have some mould on the walls but have put this down to the lack of use and a tumble dryer being close by?
