    Triton Topaz T100si runs cold

No, same with old head. Whats odd is that with the old head, the scale mainly ended up in the head itself and the scale trap didnt need doing for ages. With the new head the scale trap clogged up within a week but there was not much in the head itself. It appears Triton changed the head...

Well thanks for your input G, helpful as always... I am surprised you didnt just suggest replacing all the electronic components with wire links and then killing yourself... :D now get back to changing those Tantalum bead capacitors (10uF/35v) you lazy sod

    Triton Topaz T100si runs cold

Thanks gas4you, if the element was scaled up, would this result in the exchange unit getting hot, but not actually heating the water...? Other thing is this only started happening when I replaced the shower head to the new type T100si one.... its different to the old one...it does not...

    Triton Topaz T100si runs cold

Hi, Had my Triton Topaz T100si 8.5kW for 2 years now, its been fine but its being going hot and cold on a daily basis for the last month. From what I can see I am presuming the this shower has two forms of temp control: one is the standard flow valve and then there is a bunch or...

    weird lighting ring

Ok this explains alot. what I have in my bathroom is a ceiling rose for the light, a pull switch for the bathroom light and a pull switch for the fan (with isolator (rocker) switch outside bathroom door). There are 4 wires in the light rose. 1) wire from bedroom light rose 2) wire to...

    weird lighting ring

I am having trouble with my upstairs light ring layout. 1) It seems that the bathroom light is spurred off the main ring and there is a shaver light and extractor fan spured off the bathroom light rose.... Does this seem normal for a 14yr old house? 2) Does anyone know the maximum...

Hi Softus, 1) yes...the LABC are notified and we are awaiting confirmation. 2) The shower head has a guide rail that fixes it at a higher point than the bath..to stop syphonage I presume thanks Ps (it says its IPX4 compliant to....I take it that is reasonably waterproof)

    Shower location

Hi Can any one tell me or point me in the direction of info concerning the siting of the shower unit itself, when installing an electric shower in a bathroom over the bath itself (not in a cubicle). Are you allowed to do this or does the unit have to be mounted out of the "water area"?

Part P and getting domestic DIY work certified

I know its off topic, but a work collegue has had a similar "farce" with the local authority due to building an extension and finding it is in close proximity to beech trees... We note in the "building regulations submission form" that it stipulates that DIY work cannot be quoted...

Part P and getting domestic DIY work certified

NICEIC was only an example....sorry The only course of action I can see here is to declare my work to the LABC, tell them it needs inspecting and then get them to hire the appropriately "qualified" electrician to check the work....and stay out of it...

Part P and getting domestic DIY work certified

As I suspected....and mainly the reason why I had posted this, thanks BJS_Spark. I am finding this whole DIY scenario a pain now. The LABC say get a qualified electrician, the qualified electrician (NICEIC) say they cannot check my work, go see the LABC...the law says this and that...

Part P and getting domestic DIY work certified

Ban all sheds... Having digested the above docs and links, I see there is a lot of "interpretation" to be taken in to account. The law certainly seems to limit exactly what DIY's can do. I expect plumbing will be the next target. I also conversed with the LABC who have suggested that...
